Excel download message locking you from editing.

Those of you that are using 2013 or later Microsoft Excel and you download Excel spreadsheets from the training site, you may have noticed a message that prevents you from editing the spreadsheet without selecting the “Edit Mode” button in the notice. I get this on every assignment that I review from every student and wanted to remove that default. To do that, in excel go into: File => Trust Center => Trusted Locations. In here you add your Download folder as a trusted location. Now the notice is gone.

NOTE: MICROSOFT DID THIS AS A SECURITY MEASURE TO PROTECT YOU FROM EMBEDDED VIRUSES!!! If you do not have software that protects you already you may want to leave the setting alone.

Hope this is helpful.
